As I said in the
previous post, we are living in “the virtual era”. This fact comes with a set
of “must be” that are part of the nowadays formation and education of every
child to enable him or her to face the challenges of contemporary world.
The technological knowledge,
it means the domain of virtual environments, comes hand in hand with the domain
of a second language. These competences can be promoted by teacher, by using
virtual tools like Diigo, Mindmups and Blogger. Every one of these tools can
serve to different teaching and learning purposes, depending on the
teaching-learning objectives, the contents and the type of learning it´s being
worked with the children.
For example, Critical
Thinking Skills can be enhancing if children learn how to use the Mindmup tool.
It forces them to analyze, organize, connect, summarize and ideas about any
topic, so they can have a mind map about the topic that make clear and easy to
memorize. This tool facilitates the mentioned learning process, adding elements
to children to be able to express opinions, concerns and also to add any other
aspect to the topic.
Another resources are
Diigo and Blogger. These resources, allow teacher and students to create and
benefit from two different options of virtual communities. The first one is the
Community of Learning (CoL). This type of virtual community makes possible that
the children access more information about different topic using the given
information and suggestions in the site of the community. The second one is the
Community of Practice (CoP. In this type of space, children can share their
experiences, findings, opinions, concerns about the topic that is being
studied.
To conclude, undoubtedly,
the combination of these elements enhances the meaningful and practical
learning of children. It is undeniable that using virtual learning tools becomes
a great ally to teacher and students, to develop the technological competence required
by the virtual era in which they are living, and at the same time learn another
language.

I totally agree with you that Feedly is an excellent source of information specially if we select the right information to be received. Moreover, Google Forms and Form graphics, they are an ultimate option for teachers because contribute with e-learning and enhance professional development. Those apps definitely helps leaning and the meaningful practice in the classroom by providing technology involvement and interaction that lead to a success.
