Using Pictures as Teaching Resources.

I can think in 3 important reasons to work with this tool:

1. Images are very important when teaching English to children. The pictures can facilitate the learners a base to develop their speaking skill by referring to them with short messages written on them.

2. Using images can become a way to promote meaningful learning among children, because they will feel attached to the topics by using the pictures they selected by their own.

3. Designing this type of instruments, like collages of images, can facilitate teachers to develop a topic following the sequence of the collage, so the students have both the graphic sequence and the spoken input.

This resource can be used in different ways and can benefit and enrich the teaching possibilities.

    Hello Pata, I agree with your idea that collage promotes meaningful learning. In fact, this activity draws background information out of students because images are much stronger than words to recall past scenes of our lives.

How often is it possible to be benefit by the gift of learning to be able to use properly the difficult virtual tools? The experience was challenging… my classmates and I had to do an effort to complete the assigned tasks. Some of us finished soon, but some others took more time. The generation gap was evident during this learning experience. But it deserved the effort, the attention and the compromise.
